There seems to be a bit of confusion over commercial / free / open source / propriety

Microsoft's repository platform' Famulus' = Microsoft's Research-Output Repository - it's free but based on commercial software

ArchivalWare (PTFS) and Digitool are both commercial repository products

There's also Intralibrary - http://www.intrallect.com/ a commercial repositiory product that started as a learning object repository but is now a generic repository product with some realtively high profile users (w.r.t. learning materials).
