The Forum has set up a work group on E-publishing and Open Access and one of the tasks of that group for this year is to create a network of repository staff on a national level. RECOLECTA has been established in Spain by FECYT (Fundación para la Ciencia y la Tecnología) and REBIUN (the network of research and academic libraries of Spain) to promote, support and coordinate the cohesive development of the digital repositories network for the open access, dissemination and preservation of the Spanish publicly funded research results, and to develop services and functionalities over those scientific results for researchers and the wider community. RECOLECTA will coordinate the national agenda with the international agenda to contribute to build and be part of the wider infrastructure of the European Research Area. RECOLECTA is also the national harvester in Spain, harvesting from 25 repositories, of which 14 are e-theses collections.
